Friday already, and it’s time to hit the road. We’ve taken part in courses and workshops, learned from our tutors and fellow delegates, been impressed and inspired by our guest speakers, voted for our new committee, eaten far too much, partaken in the odd drink or two, worn fancy dress, sung, danced – and have even got some writing done. In other words, it’s been another packed week at Swanwick.

And as for the Book Room, it’s as though it had never existed. We left it yesterday as clean, tidy and empty as we found it a week ago. Like Brigadoon, in a way. But, like that imaginary Scottish village, we know it will be back again next year.

Happy birthday Swanwick and Swanwickers; have a great year. We’ll do it all again in 2019. And once again, the Book Room will be open for business.

Elizabeth Ducie was a successful international manufacturing consultant, when she decided to give it all up and start telling lies for a living instead.

  1. Wishing you a great year too, Elizabeth. Thanks for everything you did to make Swanwick memorable again. The 70th Anniversary was very special. But then every year is special at Swanwick. xx
